💰 Pay & Schedule
- Pay Rate: $20.33–$25.92 per hour
- Schedule: Split shift — morning and afternoon routes
🚍 What You’ll Do
- Conduct daily safety inspections of your bus, including brakes, steering, lights, signals, emergency exits, and tires. Document any issues using the district’s Bus Defect Card system.
- Maintain a clean, well‑kept bus interior and exterior, ensuring all safety lettering and signals remain visible.
- Keep your bus fueled and ready for each route.
- Promote a safe, orderly environment by maintaining student discipline during transport.
- Provide safety instruction at the start of each school term—and as needed—covering emergency exits, fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and emergency procedures.
- Follow assigned routes and schedules consistently to ensure reliable, on‑time service.
- Complete all required reports accurately and on time.
- Attend scheduled safety meetings and ongoing training sessions.
- Supervise students respectfully and attentively, with special care for younger riders.
- Stay familiar with the Missouri School Bus Driver’s Manual and all state driving standards.
- Uphold professionalism and responsibility while reporting to the Superintendent of Schools through your Supervisor.
🧰 What You Bring
- A valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- Minimum age of 21
- Successful completion of a DOT physical
- Ability to pass a drug screening
- Good physical and mental health, with annual clearance from a licensed physician designated by the Board of Education
- Normal use of both hands, feet, eyes, and ears, and free from communicable disease
- Certification from the Missouri School Bus Driver Instructor Course, or willingness to obtain it
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and school staff
- A demonstrated commitment to safety, respect, and reliable service
